Ninging It!

Well i just joined Ning and have made a fantastic page which i am not really going to host because who has the time for that! But it was fun anyway. It was red and green (very hard on the eyes!) and was called Fusion Wrath. it was supposed to be a forum for the discussion of musical material that is actually creative and not designed to make money therefore making music a primary source of inspiration and creativitiy in its purest form and not a commodity.
Anyway I couldn't invite anyone because I have been using my ccc email address and you have to have one of the public ones to go further with this. So I came a little unstuck there but never mind!

Facebook - how do they know!

Hi all, I'm not sure of you are still hanging in there but I didn't get finished so I am still plodding on. I have just joined face book. I ony have one question: How do they know? I was immediately bombarded with a list of people, several of whom i know (that's the bit where the question applies), and plenty who I don't. I only want to use it to talk to some people where that is the only way. Generally because they live in another country. And even then, now that I 'skype' there are limited uses for Facebook. So i will see how long I stick with this...

wikis are useful

Not much to say here. I like them, they are useful, especially to libraries, hopefully I will get around to using them more. I didn't put my blogname on the wiki as it is too long and I don't really like it. I didn't realise that when I made it up so I just put something in the favourites column. Anyway, I enjoyed this one to a degree too as I can see it's use and potential.

Library Thing

i have just checked out library thing and for the bibliophiles who haunt our aisles I will be recommending it. I liked it a lot. I had trouble inserting a picture for my profile which is odd but it didn't save in My Pictures like it should have and just wouldn't open properly from there. Apart from that i think it is great and I will attempt to use it in my future reading life. Currently i ahve a notebook where I write down titles that look interesting. I could just add them to library thing and tag them as to be read. I was a little shy on adding a comment to books that I have read and liked but there are probably groups you can go to for those kinds of phobias!
Ciao from Charlie Bean:)

Cloudy computations with CharlieBean the magic dog:)

I have just about completed the Cloud 9 module. I think for the first time I can say I generally got what it was about, plodded through the worklist and didn't hate it! There was a little tricky thing about getting the document onto the blog from Google but luckily I was sitting next to Rebecca and it was instantly easy! I even managed to put a reminder in for myself to turn up to my next concert:) I'm looking forward to that one although it will be quite difficult. Anyway I am about to explore library thing. Might even be useful:)

Enemy of all right-wing fascists

If you google cultural relativism, apart form the first entry which is wikipedia, the rest of the hits on the first page are written by biased one-size-fits-all mostly christians and lawyers - 2 of the most intractable groups of nuisances ever to walk this planet...

Home alone

Well, to be honest gadgets and widgets are things I don;t think I ever will use. It's for people who have an e-life or computer personality or online persona... any of the above or a mixture of all of them ending up with something not quite as good as the original...sorry Mighty boosh line again I'm afraid. My brother (who has just left for Africa!) and I used to always make these crap jokes that everyone else in our family would give us odd loooks about. And my sister who was staying has just started out on her big OE thing and is off to Melbourne before she heads to Europe. So it is back to just me and Charlie Bean now so I have been hanging out with him and going to jazz festival gigs and doing my MIS assignments so as for widgets and gadgets...no big loss!

Gettin' Jiggy Widget!

Hi guys, well I am halfway through the widgets and gadgets thing. Sargia explained most succinctly that a gadget is the same thing as a widget but just the google version (which will have some differences but essentially is the same thing). I am going to attempt to insert one into this blog. OMG, I sound like I am Evil Knievel and am about to attempt some kind of ridiculous escapade from which I may not come out unscathed!

Right now you should be seeing a funny little picture of a moon rising over a rickety pier! Hmmm

feeding off RSS

The names for all of these things often have a connection to something else, something nice, in this case food! Well I don;t particularly have any feeds I naturally want to subscribe to. There are plenty of interesting ones but I know I will never get around to reading them so I shall eventually get around to deleting them I guess!

Hello from Charlie Bean

Hi guys, I have fallen a bit behind and I haven't even met you all yet! I seem to be having issues with Monday mornings!!! Now that I have worked out a little bit about how to get to me blog (it was saying strange things to me before:) I shall hopefully have a little bit more to say for myself. I have had a look at the RSS thing. It is all very cool and there is loads of wonderful things out there to subscribe to. I am wondering how someone who has a stack of library books growing under her bed is ever going to be able to read all them too!
The next thing I am going to look at is social networking. Ironically enough I am sitting here next to Sargia typing away and we are not talking to each other!!
See you all hopefully soon:)
